Meet the Odyssey is an app where the Amazing Race with a bit of Tinder and a hint of Pokemon Go.. changes how we connect. And redefines how we travel.
I’m Christina. I have over a decade AI; our team is AI driven but customer focused. Our head of ops is a Vet that keeps the team on track and in line. And we'll be on-boarding a Gaming vet with 20+ years at Unity and Electronic Arts soon to head up game development.
Our company has a prototype for our mobile app. We're looking for students who want to help us explore different ways we can leverage data to create better player experiences.
Projects for the data team are focused on enabling gameplay and business development. The data team is largely focus how can data be gathered, presented, recommended, and used geospatially.
Optional Focus Areas:
- Setting up a performance driven geo-spatial database.
- Geo-spatial Querying & Location Gathering.
Each area has more details that can be discussed with educator around the scaffolding of the project.

By the end of the project, students should demonstrate:
- Familiarity with our platform, products and services.
- Researching and presenting the pros/cons of Data Engineering solutions in a production environment.
- Testing Data Engineering solutions within a small team.
- Implementing scalable Data Engineering solutions.
- Ability to work on engineering teams and work cross functionally with design teams.
- Recommendations for future app improvements
Final deliverables should include
- Completed implementation that is scheduled for release to the production environment.
- A technical documentation.
- A presentation ( 1-2 slides, 5-7 mins).
Providing specialized knowledge in the project subject area, with industry context.
Sharing knowledge in specific technical skills, techniques, methodologies required for the project.
Direct involvement in project tasks, offering guidance, and demonstrating techniques.
Providing access to necessary tools, software, and resources required for project completion.
Scheduled check-ins to discuss progress, address challenges, and provide feedback.
